IS IT POSSIBLE FOR OPPOSITION TO DEFEAT 'MIGHTY' BJP WITHOUT INC
MAMATA'S HANKERING FOR CONGRESS FREE OPPOSITION
Mamata Banerjee has been constantly voicing out for a congress mukt opposition after since getting the better of bjp in bengal's legislative assembly elections held recently. Many MLAs and other party workers from congress have been recently fusing into TMC, although the party has never made any such electoral impact apart from the state of Bengal and to some extent in Tripura, they seem to have got a new beacon of hope after it's stellar performance of course in Bengal.
CAN DREAM OF MAMATA EVER BE FULFILLED?
If we look at the results of last general election we can easily get to the bottom of the aforementioned question, despite the fact that the regional parties have delivered tough contest to bjp in their realm.
The stronghold seats of regional parties doesn't even account to a total of 20% of the total lok sabha seats and their vote base is solely based on regional interest so it's quite apparent they are going to perform well in state elections compared to general elections because issues in general elections are not just confined to a particular state and rather than being regional the sentiments of people turns rapidly pan India. Coming to the point in more than 180 seats there is a direct between congress and bjp and in more than 220 states it's a direct battle between UPA and NDA. Congress has ruled this country for many years and it has supporters in nearly every state unlike most of the regional parties, so, it's quite evident the dream of opposition without congress is anything but impossible at least for this decade. Also the upcoming polls of 5 states is going to decide who will be the claimant for the face of opposition.
